MASTER SEWING AND DESIGN PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION (MSDP) & MASTER ALTERATION SPECIALIST (MAS)
Do you have what it takes to Legacy into the Master Sewing and Design Professional or Master Alterations Specialist Certification Program? You have mastered your skills and now you have an opportunity to become certified. MSDP and MAS certification is an asset to you and your business. You may be eligible to use the Master Sewing and Design Professional (MSDP) or Master Alterations Specialist (MAS) title in your business because of your years of experience, success and productivity in the apparel field.
The Legacy application is designed for successful professionals who have been working in a sewing and design business or alterations business for a minimum of fifteen years. The Legacy Program is aimed towards entrepreneurs and professionals who have established a successful career and now wish to earn MSDP or MAS certification based on the body of their work and experience. Your years of experience and business success make you an ideal candidate to validate your skills and earn the prestigious right to MSDP or MAS certification. If you meet the requirements of this program you will not be required to take the certification tests required of other candidates.
The governing board has designed an application that invites you to present the required information consisting of written and visual examples of your business mastery. If you meet the requirements, beginning with a minimum of fifteen years full time sewing and design or alteration business experience, then you are eligible to submit your application. The governing board will review your application and if you meet the criteria they will award you MSDP or MAS certification.
The cost for the Legacy Program for MSDP is $1000.00 for Association of Sewing and Design Professionals (ASDP) members and $1500.00 for non-ASDP members. The cost for the Legacy Program for MAS is $800 for Association of Sewing and Design Professionals (ASDP) members and $1200.00 for non-ASDP members. Continuing Education requirements are also required for all participants to maintain MSDP certification. Before registering for the MSDP or MAS Legacy Program please contact the Director of Operations to make sure you qualify for the program. It is recommended that you gather the required information for this certification prior to sending in your registration form and fees to insure that you are able to meet the requirements.
